BARBERRY AGREE LEASE OF 112,900 SQ FT TO GLOBAL PACKAGING GIANT IN LEIGHTON BUZZARD

West Midlands based Barberry have signed an agreement for the lease of the Stanbridge Building, a 112,900 sq ft fully fitted warehouse, set in 6.25 acres, to SCA Packaging Limited in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.
Barberry agreed the 15-year lease at £4.25 per sq ft, providing an annual rent of £480,000. The warehouse is the fifteenth in the UK for SCA Packaging Limited.
The letting follows the acquisition by SCA Packaging Ltd of Leighton Buzzard business, Cool Logistics, who provide niche, packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. Their bespoke packaging solutions are able to regulate the precise temperature of the products they contain. Cool Logistics has enjoyed rapid growth within the local area and its integration into SCA Packaging Ltd will provide the opportunity for new investment and the creation of new jobs within Leighton Buzzard.
SCA packaging Limited employs 23,561 people in more than 300 locations in 30 countries throughout Europe and Asia. They are a leading provider of customer-specific packaging solutions with emphasis on state-of-the art design and local service close to customer facilities and will utilize the Leighton Buzzard site to further this aim within Bedfordshire and the south of the UK.
SCA Packaging Limited is a subsidiary of the SCA Group, a global consumer goods and paper company who recorded sales of 11.4 billion in 2007. SCA group develop, produces and markets personal care products, tissue, packaging solutions, publication papers and solid-wood products.
Henry Bellfield of Barberry said’
“This is a substantial agreement in today’s market and shows there are quality tenants out there for developers to talk to. Our willingness to work with SCA and their long term aims has provided the platform for them to adapt the building to their own needs from the refurbishment works we have carried out.”
