An apartment block in the North West has been just what the doctor ordered for Barberry Developments following the completion of a £1 million refurbishment programme.
Barberry acquired the former nurses’ accommodation at Pointer Court, Lancaster, from the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust for an undisclosed sum.
They then created 24 luxury apartments in Bevan House and Nightingale Court with a comprehensive internal and external programme of improvements.
The two-bedroom apartments, located opposite the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, are being marketed at £140,000. More than 50% have already been bought by investors attracted by rents of £850 per month and a healthy yield.
Alex Watson, director at Barberry Developments, said: “Barberry purchased this block of residential apartments in Lancaster from the local NHS trust because we saw the exciting potential.
“Having obtained planning for external improvement works, we have carried out full refurbishment and reconfiguration – including new kitchens and bathrooms – to provide 24 high quality, two bedroom apartments.”
He added: “They are in an excellent location, just across the road from the hospital. The market is really strong. These apartments have proved to be very popular with investors and we have been delighted with the sales achieved.”
