A donation of £7,500 has been passed to the Alzheimer’s Society in the West Midlands by the commercial property community following a rugby tournament, to help the charity tacklethe neurodegenerative disease.
The funding will support vital services for people living with dementia, as well as groundbreaking research, providing a meaningful boost to the charity’s work supporting individuals and families across the region.
Luke Selibas, Midlands regional fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Society, said: “We are incredibly grateful to receive this £7,500 donation. Every pound raised helps us support people affected by dementia and brings us closer to a world where it no longer devastates lives. It’s inspiring to see the property sector unite behind such an important cause.”
Property professionals from across the Midlands, Yorkshire and the North-West contributed to the fundraising effort which raised more than £15,000 in total, underlining the industry’s continued commitment to giving back to deserving causes.

The funds were raised during a the Tri-Regions Rugby tournament hosted by Midlands Property at Averyfields in Birmingham, home of Bournville Rugby Club and Midlands Hurricanes RLFC. The event brought together three regional teams for a competitive and good-spirited afternoon of rugby, supporting both the Alzheimer’s Society and The Lewis Moody Trust. Midlands Property lifted the winner’s trophy.
The day also included a minute’s silence in memory of former Midlands Property player Matt Gallagher, reflecting the strong sense of community behind the event.
The Midlands Property rugby team, which represents professionals from across the regional property sector, was established in 2008 by Jonathan Robinson and Adam McGuinness. Since its inception, the team has played a key role in bringing the industry together while supporting charitable causes.
