Leading accountants and business advisors BDO have ranked Barberry Group number one in the top 50 fastest growing businesses in Worcestershire.
BDO has published its Worcestershire Growth Report 2019, containing the top 50 list based on average turnover growth, as well as analysis of sectors and employment growth.
We clinched the title in an exceptional year which has seen a number of our major developments come to fruition. Turnover increased from £18.8million to £41.5million – representing average growth of 94.86%.
The BDO report said: “Privately owned property development and investment company Barberry Group is so confident of growth that it is building a £9.8 million warehouse in Northamptonshire as a speculative development. But with other recent projects, including a £140 million business park in Durham, it has reasons to be bold.”
Henry Bellfield, group director at Barberry, said: “Barberry’s growth in 2019 is largely due to our successful execution of business plans in key markets within the mid-box Industrial/logistics sector, student accommodation sector and strategic land. We are very proud to see our efforts recognised in this way by BDO.”
Highlights this year include the successful completion of Barberry 46 & 65 industrial/warehouse units in Birmingham, the delivery of our 725-bed student accommodation development in Coventry, and the sale of 165 acres of consented land. We also have a logistics/industrial pipeline of circa 2.8 million sq ft.
