Barberry Droitwich Ltd has welcomed the decision by Eric Pickles, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, to grant permission to build up to 500 new homes at Yew Tree Hill, Droitwich, in Worcestershire.
Jon Bellfield, managing director of Worcestershire-based Barberry, said the company agreed with the planning inspector’s conclusions in finding in favour of the development – an exciting new village community – following the appeals process.
“This has been a long appeals process for both sides but, of course, we agree wholeheartedly with the inspector’s findings in his report,” he said.
“Now that the decision has been made in support of our proposals we are looking forward to working closely with Wychavon District Council to agree the detailed reserved matters, which need to be resolved before development can commence.”
Barberry has been granted planning consent for 500 homes, a 200 unit care facility, community centre, café and other facilities on land north of Pulley Lane and Newland Lane.
