After their purchase of the Kwik Save brand, Somerfield disposed of a number of outlets; Barberry acquired four of these properties, each with potential to adapt for other retailers and uses.
By investing financially and with imagination in the potential of the sites Barberry has attracted high calibre tenants and transformed neglected sites into quality retail offerings which have also generated significant job opportunities for their local communities.
Barberry agreed a 10 year lease with Countrywide Farmers Plc on 10,325sq ft of ground floor and 8,315 sq ft first floor space in the retail area of Totton town on the edge of the New Forest. In 2010/2011 an extensive high quality office refurbishment of the first floor was completed, comprising 3,409 sq ft. This office has been subsequently let to Descartes Systems, a logistics IT business.
