The proposed development site has been promoted through the Local Plan process and a planning application for 500 residential units plus a 200 unit retirement village was submitted in 2011.
Following a refusal at Committee in 2013, despite an officer’s recommendation for approval, Barberry have successfully appealed the decision and the Secretary of State has issued his formal decision in July 2014 allowing the appeal and awarding costs.
Redrow have completed the acquisition for the first phase of development for 250 and following receipt of detailed planning have started building on site. Following unconditional exchange of contracts Taylor Wimpey have now obtained reserved matters approval for the remaining 250 units. A 3 acre mixed use site to include a local centre is to be disposed of separately.
